New British sportscar: The Jetstream Extreme SC250
Promising British sports car manufacturer Jetstream has declared it has commenced manufacture of the SC250 that was brought out at the Auto sport motor display last January.
The car will be a lightweight mid-engined road legal racer. It is got its name as SC250 with the same 250bhp 2.0-litre turbo petrol that forces the current Vauxhall Astra VXR.
It weighs only 700kg, with its angular Extreme considerably quicker than the Luton hatch, running to 60mph in less than 4 seconds.
This car was designed by the person who also designed the recent Ford Thunderbird the Extreme and this sports car owes its strange look to hours used up in a wind tunnel. The Jetstream boast F1-style inboard suspension and an adjustable ECU helps to change the engine’s characteristics reckoning on you being on road or track.
Pricing starts at £29,495 and the company hopes to build 50 cars a year at its Cornish factory.
