Race version of the Audi R8: Audi R8 GT3
August 30th, 2008
Audi has build a nice new version of the Audi R8. This ride has a lot different then the current R8 version. The GT3 version doesn’t have four wheel drive, but only rear wheel drive. This ride will be used for the GT3 class races and it will compete against Porsche 911’s, Ferrari F430’s and Aston Martin DBRS9’s. The engine will be a nice 4.2 liter V8 that will be upgraded to 500bhp and there will be a new sequential gearbox built for the track.
Here some nice images of this ride, thanks to Motoring sky

Uncle B
Here in Canada, we have matured and no longer require the fastest time, stoplight to stoplight, and have substituted this thrill for control enough to stay loaded until the point of maximum pleasure. This maturity is reflected in our ‘road racing’ laws. If we are caught exceeding the limit by a pre-set amount, the vehicle is impounded for a week – to teach us to hold it long enough to enjoy it!

You mean, Canadians can’t drive?
Uncle A
Dear Uncle B,
What part of “will be used for the GT3 class races” and “built for the track” do you not understand?
Enjoy your political correctness, I am sure you think you are making the world a better place.

Uncle B:
I think the fact that you have to have a law so strict is compelling evidence that Canadians have, in fact not “matured” in this respect. Also, I’m not sure why this has anything to do with a new race car.
the right one
Uncle B, Nobody cares. This is a race car, not a street racer.
Someone with too much time
Wow your really really dull
PowerJunkie
You must be ‘French’ Canadian to have matured so much. Turd burglar! FU.
captaind
Beautiful car, I hope it does well on the track. Oh, and since everyone else is making fun of Uncle B, I should also…
Uncle B, you’re a country of pussies, not maturity. That’s why you have such laws controlling how you live and drive.
yank
Yeah the new laws are working real well. Speed limit of 100km/hr while I’m doing 115-120 and getting passed constantly. This on the Q going North to Toronto.
walrus
Please oh please let them also run this in ALMS since SPEED, in its infinite wisdom, does not show FIA GT races in order to make time for the dozen or so NASCAR themed talk shows…911 GT-3s, Ferrari 430s, Panoz Esperantes, BMW M3s, Ford GTs, Vipers, Vettes, and then the Audi R8 GT-3, that’s an awesome field. It would make up for the entirely pointless GT 1 and LMP 1 single contender classes.
2009 Audi R8 V10 5.2 FSI quattro | Power Rides
[...] a true Power-ride fan, we all know the Audi R8 or Audi R8 GT. Well Audi made a new one! The Audi R8 V10 5.2 FSI! Off course the R8 is a great ride, we all know [...]
bil bob
Canadians are stupid as hell.
Uncle C
The car looks amazing. Hope it does well.
…and to the Canuck…
Thanks for your input Uncle B. Now shouldn’t you get back to monitoring bears fucking and bottling maple syrup you mountie?! Seriously, what productive contribution to society has Canada ever made.
T-elospathic
I have the 4.2L in my A6, and I can say, this engine definitely has such potential. It never ceases to amaze me what Audi can do with such a small piece of equipment.
Has anybody realized that “Uncle B” has probably never returned to this page?
That said…
Stricter laws = less “mature” population. Obviously, otherwise you wouldn’t be flaunting your “maturity” since flaunting is a rather crude way of showing… Immaturity. You’re like the kid in school who has the nicest Wal*Mart bike, and thinks that it’s the best. Go do what Uncle C suggests; evolve a little.
