Lancer wins first race

Mitsubishi’s Racing Lancer won its first Team Repsol rally-racer in the Baja Portalegre 500 endurance event last weekend.
Driven by Stephane Peterhansel, with co-driver Jean-Paul Cottret, Racing Lancer came in front of its close rival, the BMW X3 of Filipe Campos and Jaime Baptista, by a clean margin of 4 minutes, 3 seconds over the3-day, 515km path through the mountains of Portugal.
The team will now carry on testing in Portugal, Spain and France before its 4-car entry in the 2009 Dakar Rally which will take place in South America in January.
