‘Green’ Mercedes C-Class on sale from January
Mercedes-Benz will introduce a ‘green’ version of its C-Class that will decrease fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions in the UK market.
The C 180 Compressor Blue Efficiency replaces the existing model and Mercedes says this will reduce costs for motorists with no increase on the purchased price.
Fuel savings and carbon dioxide emissions cuts have been achieved with weight-saving measures, energy management and enhanced aerodynamics.
CO2 emissions have been reduced by 19% so the new model emits 149g/km and this shifts it from the 21% tax band to the 17% company car tax band. The Blue Efficiency model moves the C 180 from road tax band E to tax band C.
