Kia has selected its home motor show to make public the next-generation Sorento 4×4.

The new model is lengthier, lower, and roomier than the model it substitutes. Sorento appeared at the Seoul Motor Show. The new car has space for 7 and 15% more luggage than the present model.

The new Sorento will have 4 engines: two petrol V6s, one 2.4-litre four cylinder and the 3rd generation version of the 2.2-litre diesel that gives rise to 195bhp and emits 173g/km of carbon dioxide.

Both 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive variants will be provided with either a 5 or 6 speeds manual. The wheel variants depend on the engine or else a new, more competent 6 speed automatic which claims to reduce fuel consumption by 12% can also be provided.

The Sorento is anticipated to go on sale on 2010 with price projected to begin at approximately £20,000.
