Car Production in the UK is Down Again

Revival of the car industry in Britain is to be expected to be ‘lengthened’, state motor industry chiefs. The figures on production were released today and they looked very dull.

Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) brought out Figures and it showed that production in the UK is down 55.3% against the same time last year.
Even though some manufacturers said that a major boost in sales has taken place after the launch of UK scrappage scheme, yet the car industry is still seeking more and more aid from the government to keep the industry alive.

As the scrappage motivation scheme is completely operational now the industry is optimistic about the affirmative impact this will have on the car market and on UK production specifically.

A 10% stake was purchased by Daimler in Tesla. This was to support and back up Smart and Tesla to produce and sell more electric cars in the open market.

New Subaru Legacy Estate has been Unveiled

Subaru has removed the drapes from its new Legacy estate. The new car is bigger than it was before. It also contains quiet a lot of other new mechanisms under the bonnet.

Similar kind of mechanisms like those found in the saloon can also be seen in the estate. The Legacy Estate is being set in motion in Japan. The Legacy variety will be making its first appearance to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year.

The new cars attribute is fitted with a Boxer engines which has a range from 2.5 to 3.6-litres. A modified version of Subaru’s 2.0-litre Boxer diesel will also be released in the European markets.

The car is fitted with new technology which includes Lineartronic CVT transmission which is for the first for the Legacy. This will aid in improvement of fuel economy and reduce emissions. The car is also broader and more retentive than the retiring versions.

Superxcar Veritas RS III Debut to be in London

Veritas the German sports car maker will be bringing out its eye-catching open-cockpit super car at the Salon Prive show in London in the month of July.

The Vermot Veritas which is a one-seater will most likely be provided with 480bhp V8 or 600bhp V10 BMW M-obtained engines.

Possibility of Auto Union Name Returning

Porsche and Volkswagen are taking into account renewing the Auto Union brand, made know by the Silver Arrows splendid prix cars of the 1930s.

Dr Ferdinand Piech who is the chairman of the Volkswagen Group stated that the Auto Union name may be the name for the company to be formed when the two brands merge.

On the other hand, the same name as Auto Union seems to be some what like a bit of a banana peel since it is associated with Nazi Germany. Even though it was produced even before Hitler became powerful Auto Union was actually the out come of the merger of three car firms in the year 1932.

The Merger of Porsche and VW has been Suspended

The merger talks between Volkswagen and Porsche has been suspended. Volkswagen announced the suspension of the merger talks with fellow German manufacturer Porsche.

This step was taken because Volkswagen was worried of the sports car maker’s mountainous debts.

The two car producers had declared their purpose to amalgamate earlier this month under, perhaps, the well known Auto Union brand name.
Porsche at present possesses in excess of 50% of VW and projects to step-up this interest to 75% in time to come.

For the sixth month in a row the value of used car has continued to increase. The year-on-year rates are up by 4.3%, according to an auction house BCA. The average worth of a used car is £235 more than they were last April.

The mean public sale value of a car is £5,641 for which BCA has attributed the rise to low auction stock and this has been triggered by an underachieving new market.
