2009 Honda Insight Leaked Brochure Includes Sporty Modulo Version

2009 Honda Insight GrillHonda’s keeping a tight rein on the 2009 Insight hybrid, due to officially drop for the U.S. market in two weeks at the North American International Auto Show . (Honda has cancelled its press conference at the show, but the Insight will still be displayed.)That hasn’t stopped the folks at the Temple of VTEC and Carscoop from getting leaked scans of a Japanese-market brochure, revealing the new Insight’s front, rear and interior details.

Judging by the pictures, the interior is largely unchanged from the Insight Concept that debuted in Paris.

The brochure also shows images of the Japanese-market Insight Modulo, a sportier version of the hybrid featuring a body kit, auxiliary lighting and larger wheels.

According to the scans, the Insight will be available in three trim levels in Japan. There’s also a set of specifications copied below from the “Insightman” website, but they’re unverified.

Cost of Driving an Electric Car

With gasoline costs going up to new highs this summer, many car manufacturers are formulating electric cars, most of which will likely make it to the market between 2010 and 2012.  If the skill survives to build electric cars that do as well as today’s gasoline-powered models, their logic says, electric cars must cost less to run.  But is it true?

The increased electrical utilization may come from a less-than-clean electrical plant, for illustration.  An electric car secured into a wall receptacle that gets its power from a coal-burning power plant is fossil-fuel powered car.  It may emit lesser emissions than a gasoline-powered car, but it isn’t need fully a free lunch.

New Hyundai Sonata saloon Hybrid

Hyundai is to display a petrol-electric (hybrid) Sonata saloon at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

The auto will have new-generation lithium-ion batteries, and be established on the face lifted on 2009 version of the Sonata. Nevertheless, production will be starting only by 2010.
Hyundai is not importing the face lifted Sonata to the UK because it has sold only in small numbers. As an alternative, it is waiting for its all-new large family-sized model, to be called i40. This comes to Europe in late 2010, and will be totally different to the US-market Sonata.

Hyundai is scheduling a Mondeo/Vectra-type series and, though a saloon will still be accessible, the company anticipates the best-seller in the line-up to be an estate.

Biofuels anonymous still to many..

feeding_biofuel1.jpgResearchers are backbiting as to whether ethanol-blended fuels are unsuited with common engines. Biofuel retail merchants are refusing arrogates from the Automobile alliance that engines in older cars, lawnmowers and motorboats are at threat of wreck from new fuels.
Fuels mixed with Ethanol are being sold at some Mobil and Gull service stations, but there is a risk that these fuels are incompatible with some engines.
A bill is awaited which has to be passed by the parliament to bring biofuels into the general sale stream. The law says that a fixed percentage of fuels sold should be ethanol based. This result in two common blends biofuel being obtainable: a 3% blend (E3) similar to 91 octanes and a 10 % blend (E10) for advanced octane fuel users. (more…)

Fuel cell automobile for Honda

Japan the innovative oriented country has promised that the masses would be getting a fuel cell automobile very soon. The Honda Company is doing it this time.

FCX Clarity is a car of Honda which is to operate with the proposed cell technique. Japan has a history of making the technology in the lab a reality. It takes up mass production of fuel cell cars which will be available at a time when the world is reeling under the bursting gasoline prices.

The newest 2010 Honda hybrid spotted!

Honda is working on their newest generation hybrid cars. Well the spy photographers of the website Roadandtrack spotted the next generation of the Honda hybrid in the Southwest desert doing some performing hot-weather testing.

The new Honda looks a lot on the Toyota Prius. Although the Honda is heavily camouflaged, you can see a lot of their design. The design of this 2010 Honda is highly influenced by the shape that looks a lot on the Toyota Prius.
