BMW declares that it will return to DTM Race to Confront Audi and Mercedes


A press release stated that BMW has taken a cautious resolution to return to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) race series. New car sales went down by just 3.6% on 2007′s results, with 1,012,164 vehicles sold. Fiat, Maserati, Ferrari, Volkswagen, Audi and Citroen all recorded large rises.

In Britain, the best-selling car is the Ford Focus and in the US it’s the F-150 pick-up truck.

Prices for new Audi S4 revealed

Prices for Audi’s new four-wheel-drive supercharged S4 will start at £34k when it is proposed to be on sale from April next year.

Saloon and estate versions will be available: the S4 Avant will start at £35,570 but customers can opt for a new seven-speed DSG semi-automatic transmission for an extra £1420 in the saloon and £1230 in the Avant.

The S4 will include Audi’s new 3.0-litre 329bhp V6 engine, which replaces the outgoing 4.2-litre V8. The V6 is cleaner and more efficient, returning 29.1mpg on the combined cycle. It is also faster and will go from 0 to 62mph in 5.1 seconds.

Audi A5 Cabriolet disclosed

Audi has issued the first pictures of its A5 Cabriolet prior to its debut at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show.

The A5 and range-topping S5 replace the current A4 soft-top. They share their basic underpinnings and power trains with the A5/S5 coupe.
The folding canvas roof remains, but the A5/S5 is now a little bigger and more spacious for four occupants. Boot space is up to 320 litres, or 750 litres with the rear seats folded down.

S-Type and TT are very costly when it comes to repairing

The Jaguar S-Type and first-generation Audi TT are the most costly cars to maintain based on a survey from Warranty Direct.

For cars between 4-8 years old – when manufacturer’s warranty expired the two summated up the biggest repair bills.
The average repair bill for the S-Type came to £422.84; average bill for a TT was £402.51.

Also expensive to repair were the MG TF (£399.35), MG ZT (£396.03) and Lexus IS200 (£394.79). The cheapest cars to run were the Toyota Yaris (£89) and Honda Jazz (£106), with the Nissan Micra (£132.24), Toyota Corolla (£134.93) and Ford Ka (£143.93) also good.
The Renault Megane had a break down of  33.18% of mechanical failure each year, and an average bill of £246.

The Ford Mondeo had a failure rate of just 8.11%, with the average bill £210.76. Its nearest rival, the Vauxhall Vectra, had a 22.77% failure rate and an average £315.28 bill.

New concept car by Audi: The Audi O concept car

On the Internet we did found some really nice Audi. It’s called the Audi O concept car, designed by Czech Ondrej Jirec.
The real reason about this car was to design the Audi O,  “to fuse a powerful and innovative audio system with a stylish and sporty four-seat hatchback”. We think it went pretty good! Here some images, thanks to AudiTalk that wrote about the Audi O Concept car.

There is also another great thing about this car. People who are really interested into Alternative Fuels“it’s designed to be a low-sound Hybrid to make sure passengers can enjoy their Drum ‘n Bass without any background noise…”
