BMW declares that it will return to DTM Race to Confront Audi and Mercedes

A press release stated that BMW has taken a cautious resolution to return to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) race series. Accepting BMW accomplishes particular prerequisites set out by ITR which is the organization behind DTM, the German producer will take part in the 2012 race season with the BMW M3.
Mario Theissen the BMW Motor sport Director stated that, “The planned return to the DTM is an exciting challenge for our team. Over the coming months we will be making all the necessary technical preparations that should allow us to be competitive right from the start should we join the series in 2012.”
The DTM, identified in English as the German Touring Car Masters, has presently raced solely with cars constructed by BMW’s major competitors. In 2009, racing variants of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class AMG and the Audi A4 were utilized by the seven teams who took part in the race. These teams selected 21 drivers throughout ten rounds of racing from May to October. Circuits used for the series are established primarily in Germany, with extra races in France, Spain, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

BMW’s M models to go turbo

BMW’s next-generation high-performance ‘M’ models will have smaller but turbocharged engines, according to Auto Week.

These improved but downsized units will offer better fuel consumption and lower emissions, yet not compromise on performance, BMW officials have promised.
First of the new turbo Ms will be the X6 xDrive M, which is to go on sale next summer; this is to have a version of BMW’s 4.4-litre V8, with output upped to around 500bhp. This engine will then be used in the next-generation M5, replacing the current model’s 5.0-litre V10.

A similar strategy will be followed with subsequent new M models, which will also eventually receive BMW’s stop-start system and other fuel-saving technologies.

BMW recalls M3

BMW is calling back 2008 and 2009 model-year M3s outfitted with the elective double-clutch serial-shift transmission in the USA.

No conventional recall has been declared in the UK as yet, but owners have been suggested to reach BMW Customer Services for further information.

North America’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration looked into charges that the transmittal software sets off a multi-stage change under hard braking, thus making the car to stall. US M3 owners have been asked to take their cars to dealerships for a free software upgrade.

BMW Concept car: The BMW X1

BMW’s baby SUV will be produced by Magna Steyr in Austria, and sales are to start at the end of next year or early 2010.

The X1 will be manufactured on a new platform resulting from that of the 1-Series; the engine line-up will feature the 120i (170bhp) and 130i (265bhp) petrol units, and 120d (177bhp) and 123d (204bhp) diesels, with BMW’s xDrive four-wheel-drive system.
This Concept X1 show car is ‘very close in styling’ to the real thing, say BMW insiders, though some of the concept’s technical features may not be available immediately from launch.

Shorter than the X3, the X1 is 4457mm long, with a 2760mm wheelbase to give a roomy interior. It has an X6-style raked tailgate, and whilst it bears a strong resemblance to all BMW’s other X models, up front it has new headlights with 3D-effect surrounds and clear glass, and new wraparound-effect LEDs for the rear taillights.

The car is comes in metallic gold paint with silver roof rails and two-tone dark grey/polished aluminum 19-inch alloy wheels.

The 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL550

Today we’ve spotted a nice big review on the web about the newest Mercedes-Benz Sl550. While reading this article you can see his opinion is quite a bit in the middle about this car, but says this car would have more style then the BMW 6 series. Well we of Wheeltronix think that ain’t right :D But thats because we are big BMW fans :D .

Well off course this new 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL550 is a great car as well, it has a great interior and some cool looks. But if we needed to choose between a BMW 6-Series or a Mercedes Sl550 we should pick a BMW 6- series probably.

AC Schnitzer news: The tuned BMW X6

frontside.jpgAC Schnitzer is the first company that took the opportunity to modify the BMW X6. And the results are great, but still not finished. From a decent BMW X6 they produced a nice agressive BMW X6 ride and still working on a nice performance update.

As you can see on the images below, they have modified the outside a bit with some bars, different grill and the nose of the car has been changed a bit. All that chrome is looking good on this nice black ride. If you ask us, this BMW X6 is changed in the good way.

On the inside AC Schnitzer made some different choices. They made the choice to use carbon and aluminum to decorate the car.
See the images below for the results. We like it! :)

The performance kit they are still working on will be for the diesel versions 3.0dX and the 3.5dX. These will produce some extra horsepowers for this amazing ride.

First some hot spy images about this new car :D

New Mercedes E-Class New Mercedes E-Class New Mercedes E-Class

Auto Express wrote: We’ve got the inside story on the latest Mercedes E-Class! Our spies have captured the clearest pictures yet of the BMW 5-Series rivaling newcomer, including the first shots of its interior.
As you can see, the cabin is strongly influenced by the S-Class luxury saloon. A large center console is topped by multi-media display screen, which is controlled by the COMAND wheel located between the front seats.
Externally, the saloon takes its cues from the recently launched C-Class, with a steeply rising waistline and distinctive character lines. At the front are bold sweptback headlamps, while moving around to the back of the car reveals LED tail lights.
Hi-tech systems will be a major feature of the mid-size Mercedes. PRE-SAFE collision warning, an ESP system that automatically adjusts the steering to compensate for cross winds and a range BlueTec diesel engines will all be available.
Expect to see the E-Class make its first public appearance at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.
