General Motors is Almost No. 1 No comments yet

By any decisive factor, General Motors had an excellent year in 2010. The company settled on solid monetary ground, it acquired a real non-interim CEO, it set in motion quite a lot of imposing new products, and it put up firm development growth in its two major markets.

Toyota, on the other hand found that 2010 was a year to be forgotten. The company encountered its U.S. sales descend harshly, fell behind GM and others in China, confronted big disputes in Japan, and endured through a global PR incubus and a long list of costly recalls.

Nevertheless Toyota still headed GM in worldwide sales when all was well-defined and exercised. The company’s 30,000-vehicle take was not much in framework.

Each car manufacturer reserved well above 8 million sales — but it was sufficient for the Japanese monster to hold on to the worldwide sales coronet for the third direct year.

Sales headship is still a key sign, and GM is going to look for it in 2011. Even though a number of most important new productions are nevertheless a year or even further away, big matters are anticipated from new worldwide marketing.

Cars are once again beginning to proceed in the correct direction — out of the salesrooms and on UAE roads. New fomite sales in the last quarter of 2010 and the first few weeks of the New Year point out that the gyrate for the local automotive segment is in full swing.

Nowhere is this more evident than in the debut and mid-sized classes, which afforded the sort of volumes they report for, which is anticipated at 80% and more of entire car sales in the country — yearly are the leader for the industry. And the uptrend is being detected throughout the board, regardless of the brand or its ancestry.

Hugh Dickerson who is the senior general manager for sales and marketing at Al Futtaim Motors, the agency for Toyota said “Our December year-to-date figures indicate our sales are up 33 per cent year-on-year showing we had healthy demand for our cars rather than any slowdown in 2010.

Its latest numbers place sales of the Yaris, Corolla and Camry as being up 28% over last year. Our expectations for 2011, based on last year’s experience, [are that] continued growth is likely.”

“It’s a demonstration phase to check the viability of this new technology.” He further added that “You guys have a sensitivity to mixed mobility and we believe a vehicle like a Prius plug in is going to be part of that future.” Portland along with five other places was selected to test drive and assess the cars in all kinds of weather situations.

Merely 600 of the Prius plug-in have been developed.  And in spite of Toyota’s latest recall problems there is no cause for fear of safety. Rouse stated that, “Toyota is going to great lengths to ensure and make sure that our customers understand that our vehicles are very, very safe.”

GM the American Motor Giants have Filed for Bankruptcy No comments yet

General Motors Corp registered for insolvency on Monday. This has forced the 100-year-old automaker which was formerly a sign of American economic strength and dynamism into the wilderness of a doubtful age of government ownership. This is the third largest bankruptcy filing in the history of the US and biggest ever in US manufacturing.

GM
This filing of bankruptcy in order to render an extra taxpayer fund of $30 billion is an enormous speculation for the Obama administration. This was done in order to bring in some restructuring for the automaker.

The immediate allegation is that GM will get smaller and thus reducing its market share to a lesser competitive structure. This will give an opportunity for rivals like Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Hyundai to take advantage of the situation and rise up and affix their stamp in the auto industry.

One of Toyota‘s ultra-productive world cars the Verso, unveils as a new 3rd generation model at the 2009 Geneva International Motor Show. The MPV has changed a lot since it was last launched.

Toyota says there are 32 permutations which can be done with Easy Flat-7. Characteristically there are more cargo space and slots in the Verso than can be seen in a mountain climber’s backpack.
When the Verso is set in motion in the UK in April three engines will be available, two of them petrol powered. Toyota uses LED technology for lighting up the foot wells for gentler access to the interior. The gear lever releases space in the centre console as it is located close to the steering wheel. The large panoramic sunroof contributes to the feeling of spaciousness in the Verso.
