Vauxhall gives Corsa and Astra extra VXR
Vauxhall is observing its British Touring Car Championships win with extraordinary edition Corsa VXR and Astra VXR models.
These Racing Edition models will be in red and black, like Vauxhall’s racers, and have leather Recaro seats. VX Racing logos on the B-pillars and side tread plates, dyed rear glass, a black stern diffuser, black side strips and black door mirrors.
The Astra VXR Racing Edition will have piano-black interior trim and 19″ gloss-black alloy wheels, and the Corsa 18″ gloss-black alloys.
Even though there is no performance upgrade, buyers will be allowed discounts on items from the Vauxhall Performance Centre parts and accessories catalogue. These include a Remus exhaust system for the Corsa for £410 (saving £150) and for the Astra for £720 (£275 off), which gives nearly 20bhp extra.
Vauxhall will present a production run of 888, touching its race car-builders Triple Eight Engineering; prices for the Racing Edition Corsa start from £17,425 and the Astra from £21,445.
