The power train has a more competent power electrical converter, a new exhaust-heat revival system to decrease warm-up time, and a chilled exhaust-gas circulation system, all of which support economy.

The petrol-only RX 350 will stay on sale in North America and other markets, but not in the UK. Both RX 450h and 350 receive restyled rear suspension – which permits for better boot-space – and retooled front suspension, attractive ride comfort.

It has condensed the 175bhp diesel’s carbon dioxide discharges, bringing it down a tax band and also bettering its fuel consumption. The IS 220d now releases 148g/km, which brings it down to the tax band C and decreases tax for company car users by up to £1,335 a year.
Fuel consumption has amended from 46.3mpg to 50.4mpg, though functioning is unaffected: it is still capable to do 135mph and 0-62mph in 8.9 seconds.

Prices for the IS 220d stays unaffected, which starts from £22,015.

The HS 250h is a mid-size saloon which fits in the Lexus range between the IS-Series and US-market ES. It is a fairly schematic mid-market executive car in its design, but with neat touches and includes a cabin made with carbon-neutral, plant-based bioplastics.
It is to be the most fuel-efficient model in the Lexus line-up; it has the hybrid-drive system as used in the Toyota Camry Hybrid, with a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine and electric motor delivering a total of 187bhp.

The engine runs on the Atkinson cycle, with its changeable valve timing working to allow a longer expansion/power stroke within the cylinders than a density stroke, escalating efficiency.

The car includes electric power steering, exhaust heat recovery for quicker warm-up, infra-red reducing windscreen glass, LED headlamps (optional) all combine to further save energy, and Lexus says that the smoothed-off HS 250h is one of the most aerodynamic saloons of its type.

Lexus LF A Super car still on the go Inspite of Cost reductions

Toyota is actually stern to bring the Lexus LF-A sports car in the market by 2011. This is in spite of the present economic situation, particularly prominent in the financial services and automobile manufacturing spheres. The company is admitting its commitment to Formula One as well, although to maintain it at the present level of spending is exceedingly difficult as reported by the company’s CEO Katsuaki Watanabe. Competitor Honda of late pulled the plug on its NSX and its F1 programme.

What is predictable to finish happening is that the 500hp Lexus will be reinforced to a limited number of only 500 examples. Does this include the cabriolet or not remains to be seen?

In the beginning of this year the LF-A bugged crowds at the Nurburgring 24 hours and more lately at Toyota’s Motor sport Festival at the Fuji Speedway.
