Tramontana

The Tramontana R Edition makes use of the Mercedes-AMG 5.5 twin-turbo V12 (720bhp and 811lb-ft) but at the same time weighs approximately 92kg less, and has its open-wheel structure exposed further.
The Tramontana R has a tiny insectile-looking creature looks, and it is said to be good for 0-62mph (0-100kph) in 3.6 seconds and 0-200kph in 10.15 seconds; top speed is 202mph. It sits on 20″ carbon fibre/magnesium wheels, with adaptable Olin’s suspension and six-piston Brembo brakes. Transmission is via a six-speed consecutive-shift system, and the R has a 42:58 front: rear weight distribution.

Tramontana programs to commence the R at the Top Marques show in Monaco this spring; it will make just 12, each priced from €385,000.

Italian studio restyles Merc SL

A Turin design agency has restyled the Mercedes-Benz SL – and turned it into a coupe.

Merc Sl 2009

It is on display as part of the Turin World Design Capital 2008 event and it transforms the German roadster into an elegant Italian GT.

Created in partnership with the Instituto di Arte Applicata e Design it may only be a 1:4-scale model at present but it could be developed into a fully-functional prototype.

The design team was led by Alfredo Stola, working mostly with IAAD student Piotr Degler Jablonski. They claim that the car would be every bit as reliable and refined as a mainstream series-production SL. It could be cheaper than the other SL hard-top, the SL 65 AMG Black Series, too.

Mercedes SL 63 AMG Limited Edition IWC

Mercedes is building a limited version of the SL 63 AMG. This time it will be a limited edition of 200 cars.
IWC is a manufacture of watches. And their cooperation with Mercedes started in the year 2004. In that year they have build the SL 55 AMG. This car was really exclusive. Only 55 of these cars are build.
