Citroen GT Concept Car will make its Appearance at Goodwood

Citroen’s outstanding GT super car notion is to make its first appearance in UK on the 1.16-mile Goodwood Hill during this year’s Festival of Speed taking place between July 3 and 5.

This demo run is not the first time for the GT by Citroën as the car has finished laps of honour at both the Nürburgring and Le Mans 24-hour survival races.

The car had made its first appearance at the Paris Motor Show in October 2008. Citroën and Polyphony, architect of the driving replication game Gran Turismo5 on the PlayStation 3, revealed the imitation of the digital vehicle and impressed the crowd with its innovative looks and high-tech technology.

The size of the car is almost 5 metres long (4.96m), and is only a metre more in height which is 1.09m. It has a big coil of windscreen that falls into the roof and on the rear mobile surface.

The five-door, four-seat Pixo is a new version of the Suzuki Alto. It will be manufactured beside the Alto in India and will be sold in Europe from spring 2009. It will also have the same 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine, and will extend fantabulous fuel economy and low discharges.
The idea of Nuvu is a more innovative take on the city car theme. It’s a petite but tall all-electric vehicle, with a three-seat interior and solar empanels on its glass roof; its pattern is a tree theme, with leaf-shapes for the solar panels and a trunk-style design in its cabin. The cabin is finished in natural, organic and recycled materials.

Paris Motor Show: General Motors Concepts

General Motors on Monday put down its strategy for the Paris motor show in October.

The following are its new concepts:

Chevrolet Orlando concept
The Orlando concept is a 7 seat people haulier that applies the platform of the forthcoming Chevrolet Cruze sedan.

Chevrolet Cruze
The Chevrolet Cruze sedan will make its debut in Paris and the car will go on sale in Europe next spring.
Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon
The CTS wagon will be crucial in increasing Cadillac’s sales in Europe, where it will be fitted with a 2.9-liter diesel V6 paired to a manual transmission system. But it will also afford a sporty choice to the restyled SRX crossover to purchasers in the United States.

Saab 9-X Air
Saab has adopted its Aero X idea and skinned the top to produce the 9-X Air idea for the Paris show. The 9-X Air is powered by a 1.4-liter engine that runs on bio fuel.

More info about alternative fuels, can be found on the website of Car Fuel Options. This could have influance on your car insurance.

Maruti Suzuki Splash 2009

Maruti 800 commenced the bang and the very dearest Zen conveyed it forward. Wagon-R nicked in well too later on. And now that Zen has already obtained a make-over in the form of Estilo, it is the turn of her stable-mate, Wagon-R. Suzuki had presented a notion founded on this car in last year’s Paris Motor Show. After that a lot of changes have brought the present Splash into its final form.

The style is gallant and is qualified by the huge headlamps at the front. The rear is a consequence of some out-of-the-box thinking and has an inner tilt to it. It does not look very nice, but every person has a right of thoughts.
The dash and the centre console shouts SX4 and Swift at its loudest. The rev counter placed on the dashboard is interesting though.
As far as engines are concerned no disappointment. A very elegant and fuel efficient 1.2L petrol and the award-winning 1.3L multi jet (DDiS) diesel engines are intended for the car. This car is anticipated to hit Indian roads early 2009.

Seat Ibiza Cupra at Paris Motor Show

Seat is launching its hot-hatch Ibiza Cupra at the Paris Motor Show in October.

It will have the VW Group’s 1.4 TSI engine, full with twin turbos to give 180bhp, and the new seven-speed DSG consecutive shift gearbox with steering wheel mounted paddle-shifts.
Style includes bigger 17″ wheels, larger bumpers, a centrally-mounted trapezoidal exhaust system tailpipe and bigger air vents plus Cupra badging and bespoke interior detailing with bucket-style seats and aluminum pedals.

The deferment has been constrained and let down, and stableness check is standard-fit. Prices will be declared closer to the on-sale date, towards the end of the year.
As with the previous Ibiza Ecomotive, this has been a near-75mpg fuel consumption figure. It had been achieved through changes to gear ratios, aerodynamics, engine management and the fitments of low rolling-resistance tires.
