Seat testing circuit card hybrid Leon for Environment
Seat is trying out a plug-in hybrid Leon model, equipped with the power train from the Volkswagen Golf Twin Drive.

The Twin Drive power train blends an 82bhp electric motor and a 122bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine, and also has the facility of stop-start and regenerative braking. It can run in electric-only mode for nearly 30 miles before the diesel engine chips in, and attain 75mph on battery power alone.
Seat will now test the Leon Twin Drive in a programmed backed by the Spanish government. Volkswagen is trying out the Golf Twin Drive in Germany, and both companies plan to charge the cars using only sustainable-source electricity. They are working to produce of plug-in hybrids for 2014.
